Pressure
Pressure is a short film which follows Elliot Royal, a rising star struggling to adjust to his newfound fame. As he grapples with the increasingly demanding lifestyle unfolding before him, he seeks the counsel of a therapist to gain insight on his burnout, a dead-end he never anticipated coming to by entering a creative industry. Inspired by Lorde’s album Solar Power and the IATSE strikes, the film tackles exploitation, ambition, fulfillment, and gratitude.
Shattering Thrones
Written in 2015 for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), Shattering Thrones is the first novel in a planned series set in an alternate fantasy world where all magical creatures are oppressed by a human-ruled kingdom. The novel follows Stefan Blackthorn, a warlock living inside a walled village where his kind are forced to reside. One day, when he spits in the eye of a human soldier during a raid, Stefan is given a choice: be killed, or serve in the army of the man he hates most — King Elric.
Behind Closed Doors
Inspired by true events, Behind Closed Doors is a spec script for a planned television series. The show follows a staff of Resident Assistants (RAs) attending an arts college as they navigate the increasingly complicated pressures of adulthood through their experiences with school, work, and relationships. As they attempt to swallow their own struggles in favor of helping others, these RAs are forced to deal with issues of identity, ethics, power, betrayal, and love.
